The Art of Lost Wax Casting with Patrick Blythe.
Glass and bronze sculptor Patrick Blythe has been busy traveling the
world teaching the art of glass casting. We have been lucky enough to
snag him for a 3 day intensive workshop on the art of Lost Wax Casting.
Two full days will be spent learing how to work with molds, alginates
and wax positives as students create a 3- dimensional object in glass.
Then on the following Saturday, students will meet with Patrick again to
unveil their works of art and learn coldworking techniques as they
apply to the 3D objects as well as coldworking for functional
glass on our new 18" flat lap machine! Students will need to bring a 3D
object to replicate in glass. You can even cast your hand if you want!
Objects need to fit inside a 6" wide by 8" long tube (provided in class)
with about 3/4" to 1" of room all the way around the object. Feel free
to bring several items to choose from. Class size is limited, register early! 636-724-0288
